Industries
Lead generation categories where a form fill is never the sale.
Seven years across healthcare, real estate, home services, hospitality, B2B SaaS, local services and lending. What they share is a sales process between the click and the money, which is exactly where most ad accounts stop measuring.

What they share
The same three problems, wearing different clothes
A form fill is not a customer
Every category here has a sales process after the click. A booked appointment, a qualified application, a demo that showed up. Meta sees none of it unless you send it.
Geography decides economics
Service areas, catchments and licensing boundaries mean half of a national ad set can be spend you cannot service. Segmentation is not optional in these categories.
Rules constrain the targeting
Housing sits in Meta’s Special Ad Category. Health limits what you can say about the person. Lending has its own restrictions. Knowing the limits changes how you structure, not just what you write.
Questions
Answers before you book
These are where the experience is deepest. If you are in a different lead generation category the method still applies, since the measurement gap is not industry specific. What changes is how fast I get useful, because I will not know your buyer as well on day one.
The wrong question, and the answer would mislead you. Cost per lead in real estate and cost per lead in B2B healthcare are not comparable numbers. What travels between categories is the method, not the benchmark.
No. Catalog and shopping campaigns are a different discipline and there are people who do them far better than I would. Everything on this site assumes a lead and a sales process.
